故事发生在改革开放的前夕，中国陕北山区的一个村庄里。高家林是村里为数不多的读过高中的青年。他毕业后被分配在村里的小学担任教师。不顾村里人的闲言碎语，他和村里纯朴善良的姑娘刘巧珍，自由恋爱。好景不长，同村青年高三星一直暗恋着巧珍，并利用其父的职权，顶替家林成为一名乡村教师。但巧珍并没有放弃对家林的爱情，反而在生活中更加关心家林。这使三星对家林产生了强烈的嫉恨，家林也因被三星顶替了教师……

讲述娱乐公司女代表和男练习生的故事，娱乐公司共同代表姜秀贤的过去失误被揭晓后，被这个社会解雇。她没有拿退休金，听到「要不要接手有才能但是没有出道的长期练习生刘镇宇」的建议后开始。在此之后女主决心培养男主，再把他卖给其它公司，为了给自己的孩子开工厂，围绕他们俩的故事。
